বাংলাদেশের সিনেমার জন্য ভারতের দুয়ার সবসময় খোলা থাকে না। অবশ্য তেমন সাড়া জাগানো সিনেমাও ঢালিউডে বিরল। সেই বিরল সিনেমার মাঝে অন্যতম ‘ভুবন মাঝি’। অভিনয় করেছেন ওপার বাংলার সুপারস্টার পরমব্রত চট্টোপাধ্যায়। ভারতের সেন্সর বোর্ড থেকে এই ছাড়পত্র পেয়েছে ছবিটি। যে কারণে এখন সিনেমাটি বাণিজ্যিকভাবে প্রেক্ষাগৃহে প্রদর্শনের ক্ষেত্রে আর কোনো বাধা থাকল না।
সরকারি অনুদানপ্রাপ্ত এই ছবিটি বাংলাদেশে মুক্তি পায় ২০১৭ সালের ৩ মার্চ। গত এক বছরে সাতটি আন্তর্জাতিক উৎসব ঘুরে মোট চারটি মহাদেশের ১৯টি দেশে প্রদর্শিত হয়। তবে ভারতে কবে ছবিটি সিনেমা হলে প্রদর্শিত হবে সেটা এখনও চূড়ান্ত হয়নি। এ ছবির পরিচালক ফাখরুল আরেফিন খান। সঙ্গীত পরিচালনা করেছিলেন ওপার বাংলার প্রয়াত লোকসংগীতশিল্পী কালিকাপ্রসাদ ভট্টাচার্য। ছবিটি তার নামেই উৎসর্গ করা হয়েছে।
স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রাম ও স্বাধীনতা পরবর্তী ৪৩ বছরের গল্প, বিদ্রোহ, মানবিকতা, প্রেম, ইতিহাস, সংগ্রাম, সংস্কৃতি এসবই ‘ভুবন মাঝি’র বিষয়বস্তু। এই ছবিতে দেখানো হয়েছে স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামের সময় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ হয়ে ওঠা এক বাউল মনোভাবাপন্ন যুবকের কথা। রবীন্দ্র-নজরুল-লালনে মজে থাকা থিয়েটার পাগল যুবক নহির সাঁই, রাজনীতির পালাবদলে যুদ্ধ-বাস্তবতায় দেশের স্বাধীনতার পাশাপাশি নিজেকে খোঁজার যুদ্ধই এখানে মুখ্য।
এই ছবিতে প্রধান দুই চরিত্রে অভিনয় করেছেন পরমব্রত চট্টোপাধ্যায় এবং বাংলাদেশের অভিনেত্রী অপর্ণা ঘোষ। কাজী নওশাবা আহমেদ, মাজনুন মিজান, মামুনুর রশিদের মতো খ্যাতিমান অভিনেতারা এতে কাজ করেছেন।
